The MFO is happy to announce the following new service for our guests: Beginning in January 2011 the Institute offers free taxi transfer from the train station in Hausach to the institute on Sunday evening at fixed times and also for departures from the institute to Hausach at varying times.

2. Oberwolfach Arbeitsgemeinschaft in April 2011

Every year in spring and in autumn, there is a week-long Arbeitsgemeinschaft (study group) in Oberwolfach with about 45-50 participants. The idea of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft is to learn by giving one of the lectures on the topic under study. The Arbeitsgemeinschaft is open to everybody, participation is by application to the organisers.

If you know a graduate student or post doc who might be interested, please be so kind and draw her/his attention to this Oberwolfach Seminar. Participation in these seminars is by application. As usual, the institute offers board and lodging free of charge. By the support of the Carl Friedrich von Siemens Foundation, travel expenses can be reimbursed up to 200 EUR in average per person. Participants can ask for travel support during their stay in Oberwolfach at the guest office against copy of travel receipts. Additionally, participation of young Japanese mathematicians can be sponsored by the grant "Heizaemon Honda Scholars". 4. Oberwolfach Prize 2010 and John Todd Award 2010

The Oberwolfach Foundation and the MFO are pleased to award the Oberwolfach Prize 2010 for excellent achievements in Analysis and Applied Mathematics jointly to

Nicola Gigli (Nice) and Laszlo Szekelyhidi (Bonn)

and to award the John Todd Fellowship 2010 for excellent achievements in Numerical Analysis to

Daniel Kressner (Zuerich).

6. Oberwolfach Leibniz Fellows

We are pleased to inform you that the postdoctoral programme "Oberwolfach Leibniz Fellows" has been prolongated and is now included in the regular scientific programme at Oberwolfach.

The focus of this programme is to support outstanding young mathematical researchers in the realization of a proposed research project. The MFO provides full financing, including board and lodging, and the possibility to invite co-workers for a shorter period.

The institute offers an excellent infrastructure embedded in an international atmosphere which is ideal for concentrated work during the stay at Oberwolfach. An application as an Oberwolfach Leibniz Fellow can be submitted at any time.

Applications can also be arranged through an application within the European Post-Doctoral Institute EPDI.

7. Oberwolfach Workshops 2013: deadline for proposals etc.

The deadline for proposals of Oberwolfach Workshops in 2013 is end of July 2011. The decision on the proposals by the Oberwolfach Scientific Committee is scheduled to the end of October 2011.

The fixed weeks and deadlines to apply for an Oberwolfach Mini-Workshop in 2012 are

1 - 7 January 2012, deadline for proposals: 12 June 2011
8 - 14 April 2012, deadline for proposals: 18 September 2011
30 September - 6 October 2012, deadline for proposals: 18 March 2012
25 November - 1 December 2012, deadline for proposals: 18 March 2012

Applications for a "Research in Pairs" stay at Oberwolfach can be made any time, preferably around six months before the planned stay.
