Opening hours, arrival and departure
The Institute opens on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. and closes on Saturday after breakfast.
The participants of our weekly programs are expected to actively contribute to the research at the Institute and to attend the whole meeting. Hence, we expect your arrival on Sunday afternoon and your departure on Saturday morning or Friday evening.
In general, a prolongation of the stay until Sunday is not possible, because the rooms will be needed for the participants of the forthcoming meeting. We are pleased to invite you for the whole week. Should you find that it is impossible to participate for the whole week, please let us know in advance as early as possible. However, kindly note that a substantially shortened stay ties up resources and might affect the success of the meeting.
Check-in takes place at the guest office on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Those arriving later in the evening should register on Monday. The Institute offers free taxi transfer from the train station in Hausach to the institute on Sunday evening at specific times.
Facilities and schedule
We try to accommodate each participant in his own room. Each room has bathroom facilities. Rooms are cleaned daily, and towels are changed on Wednesdays. Breakfast is from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., lunch from 12:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and dinner from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. There is a break for discussions, hiking and coffee and cake from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Traditionally, on Wednesday afternoon there is an excursion in the Black Forest to a restaurant - sturdy footwear is recommended.
Payment and credit cards
The Institute covers accommodation and food costs, but travel expenses cannot be reimbursed (with the exception of special grants). Payment for beverages, telephone calls, stamps, photocopies, etc. can be made during or at the end of the stay. We accept VISA, Mastercard, and American Express credit cards. Moreover we accept German EC-Cards.
Electric sockets at the Institute are German style Schuko with 230 V AC. Please check by yourself if your electric device is able to connect to 230 V AC before you plug in.
