The sixth issue of the MaRDI Newsletter is online
MaRDI (Mathematical Research Data Initiative) is a Germany-wide initiative to address challenges in mathematical research. It is aimed at the mathematical community to reconsider how to use - and provide - research data by using the FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) principles. The sixth issue of the MaRDI Newsletter “Math & Data Quarterly” focuses on the distinctive features of mathematical research data.
Mathematical research data encompasses the digital and analog objects that play a fundamental role in mathematical research. This edition delves into the unique characteristics, specific requirements, and inherent challenges associated with mathematical research data. The featured article, "Is there Math Data out there?" provides an introduction to this subject.
Furthermore, the newsletter offers reports on recent workshops and lectures addressing similar questions, a video interview with Günter Ziegler, and invitations to upcoming events to learn more about FAIR research data. As always, the newsletter closes with some reading recommendations on the featured topic.
