IT specialist

The Mathematisches Forschungsinstitut Oberwolfach (MFO, Oberwolfach Research Institute for Mathematics) organizes and promotes international scientific cooperation in mathematics. Researchers from all over the world meet here in the Black Forest to discuss current results and to develop new ideas together with others. A smoothly functioning IT infrastructure is of great importance. For support and further development we are looking for an IT specialist as soon as possible.

Areas of responsibility

  • Support and regular modernization of network, servers, applications and clients (system administration)
  • Technical preparation and follow-up as well as technical support for events, including media-technical support
  • Support for research guests and institute staff
  • Backup and documentation

Required qualifications

  • Degree as IT specialist (m/f/d) for system integration or B.Sc. in computer science or comparable qualification and professional experience
  • Very good knowledge of Windows
  • Good knowledge of Linux
  • Good knowledge of English, both written and spoken 
  • Systematic and analytical working method
  • Knowledge of the following technologies and products is an advantage: SAN, VMware, Ubuntu Server, Samba 4, PostgreSQL, Python, LaTeX

Payment is based on the collective agreement for the public sector in the federal states (TV-L). The classification within TV-L depends on the qualification. The employment will be permanent and preferably full-time. However, the position is basically divisible. Women are strongly encouraged to apply. Mitarbeiter/in (m/w/d) in der Hauswirtschaft

Wir sind ein international ausgerichtetes Forschungsinstitut mit jährlich über 2500 Gästen aus aller Welt. Wir bieten eine abwechslungsreiche Tätigkeit in einem kleinen Team, eine 5-Tage-Woche mit planbaren Arbeitszeiten in 2 Schichten (730-16 Uhr/12-20 Uhr), die Vergütung nach dem Tarifvertrag der Länder sowie die Möglichkeit einer betrieblichen Altersvorsorge. Wir wünschen uns zuverlässige und sorgfältige Kolleginnen und Kollegen mit der Bereitschaft in seltenen Fällen an Wochenenden zu arbeiten.

Ihre Aufgaben umfassen je nach Qualifikation die Reinigung von Wohn- und Arbeitsbereichen, Tätigkeiten in der Küche und die Textilpflege.
