E-Books at the Oberwolfach Library

The range of e-books was greatly expanded, especially in the years 2016 and 2017. In 2017, e-books published by the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) and the American Mathematical Society (AMS) were purchased in particular. All e-books can be used within the library without restriction, but in compliance with the general terms of use of the publishers. [more]

E-Journals at the Oberwolfach Library

Electronic editions of journals available at the MFO are provided since around the year 2000 – initially for a few titles, now for the entire inventory. In most cases, depending on the policy of the publisher, the current volume as well as some preceding volumes can be made available. There are individual license agreements or consortium agreements with single publishers, which grant even further access rights. In addition, the national licenses sponsored by the DFG are available. [more]

Book Exhibition Program

The permanent book exhibition enables academic publishers to present their new publications in the field of mathematics at the MFO for a certain period of time. The library of the MFO benefits from this cooperation, because all books from the exhibition can be included free of charge into the inventory of the library. [more]

Oberwolfach Digital Archive (ODA)

As a service to the mathematical community and a further contribution to the scientific work of Oberwolfach, the Mathematisches Forschungsinstitut Oberwolfach created the Oberwolfach Digital Archive (ODA). The ODA comprises digitised documents and results of the Oberwolfach Workshops dating as far back as 1944. [more]

Oberwolfach Leibniz Archive for Mathematics (OLAM)

Together with the Technische Informationsbibliothek Hannover (TIB) ‒ German National Library of Science and Technology we are preparing the development of a “Dark Archive” for the long-term archiving of mathematical journals. Journals of publishers who not yet participate in one of the major international portals such as Portico or CLOCKSS are to be archived. This is to ensure that the contents of these journals remain permanently available electronically, even beyond the existence of the publishers. [more]

Oberwolfach Photo Collection (OPC)

The Oberwolfach Photo Collection is based on Prof. Konrad Jacobs' (Erlangen) large collection of photographs of mathematicians from all over the world. In the 1950's Prof. Jacobs started to make copies of the photographs he had taken and donated these copies to the MFO. In 2005 he transferred his whole collection completely with all rights to the MFO. The collection also contains a lot of copies of pictures taken by Prof. George M. Bergman (Berkeley). Since about 1998 we take photos from every single group visiting Oberwolfach and so try to continue this excellent collection.

Oberwolfach Repository - Publications of the MFO

Since 2017 the MFO has been operating the Oberwolfach Repository, containing all publications of the MFO. In particular, the Oberwolfach Preprints and the Snapshots of modern mathematics from Oberwolfach can be better and more clearly managed and presented here. Full-text search is also possible.
