Meetings

These pages provide information on our scientific programs and the schedules of the events (see also our annual schedules). All participants of the scientific programs are provided with full board and lodging during their stay. Depending on the program you are participating in we are able to offer several grants covering travel expenses. Concerning a proposal for a Workshop or an application for other activities, please visit the individual webpages of the programs displayed in the menu.

Workshops

The Institute runs weekly Workshops with 45-48 participants. The aim of these Workshops is at the same time to report on the state of the art in a particular field of mathematics and to initiate new research. Participation is by personal invitation by the Director, upon the recommendation of the organizers. The Workshops are organized by leading international experts in the field.

Mini-Workshops

In adddition to the large Workshops we offer the possibility of holding Mini-Workshops with up to 16 participants in certain fixed weeks. They are especially suited to focus on very recent developments. The decision on the proposals takes place half a year before the date of the Mini-Workshop.

Oberwolfach Arbeitsgemeinschaft

The idea of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft (study group) is to learn by giving a lecture on some new results which have been found recently by other researchers working in some specific topic. Organizers and topics for the next Arbeitsgemeinschaft are proposed during the current Arbeitsgemeinschaft. Participation is by application to the organizers.

Oberwolfach Seminars

The Oberwolfach Seminars are organized by leading experts in the field and address postdocs and Ph.D. students from all over the world. The aim is to introduce about 24 participants to a particular hot development. We are pleased that the Carl Friedrich von Siemens Foundation has decided to support the Oberwolfach Seminars from 2008 to 2019. Applications should be addressed to the Director.
