The Library at Oberwolfach
New Library search with Primo
We are delighted to announce the launch of our New Library Search Portal, which has been realized with . This new search tool enables you to search across all our resources at once. You can find books, e-books, journals and e-journals and articles as well as material from the Oberwolfach Digital Archive. It also provides information on books and journals available from the Institute's library.
For searching only within our holdings you can use our conventional Electronic Catalogue.
We are very grateful to the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) for the financial support of this project.
About the Library
The Library of the MFO primarily provides service to the invited guests of the Institute. It supplies, for this purpose, printed and electronic media in all fields of pure and applied mathematics. The library is open for invited guests of the Institute; other persons wishing to use the library require permission from the Institute's director. Being a reference library, no works can be lent to individuals off site. RiP-guests and Oberwolfach Leibniz Fellows (OWLF) only are allowed to take books/journals to their room.
The collection currently contains around 54,000 volumes of books, 29,000 volumes of printed journals, more than 500 subscriptions to printed journals as well as about 4.500 electronic journal subscriptions (including German National Licences).
To ensure that the working conditions for the mathematicians are not facing any limits in the future, both, the Klaus Tschira Stiftung and the VolkswagenStiftung, allocated the sum of 408.000 Euro each (in total 816.000 Euro) to the MFO for the extension of the library building.
We are very grateful for additional support which we received in the past years especially for our library.
In particular we wish to thank:
