China-Oberwolfach Fellows
The China–Oberwolfach Fellows (COWF) Program provides outstanding graduate students and early-career researchers from China with the opportunity to participate in scientific conferences at the MFO. The MFO very much appreciates this joint initiative with the Beijing Institute of Mathematical Sciences and Applications (BIMSA). Launched in 2026, the program offers up to 60 fellowships annually, enabling promising young researchers to take part in MFO's highly selective research programs and interact directly with leading international experts in their fields.
Interested researchers from institutions in the People's Republic of China will find more details on the program, including information on application requirements, application materials, submission method and review process on the website of the COWF program at BIMSA. The final decision on applications will made by the organizers of the activities and the director in Oberwolfach. Organizers may also nominate researchers to the BIMSA review committee.
Information on the eligible Oberwolfach programs, in particular information about the general application requirements for the participation in Seminars and Arbeitsgemeinschaften, can be found on the websites of the programs:
Approved fellows will be invited to the MFO and receive an official certificate documenting their participation after completion of the program.
All invitations are subject to German and European export control regulations in science and research (cf. https://www.bafa.de/EN/Foreign_Trade/Export_Control/
