Cantor Medal awarded to Gerhard Huisken
(July 8, 2026) Gerhard Huisken, director of MFO and professor of mathematics at the University of Tübingen, will receive the 2026 Cantor Medal from the German Mathematical Society (DMV).
The Cantor Medal is typically awarded every two years and named after the mathematician and co-founder of the DMV, Georg Cantor. It is the DMV’s most prestigious scientific award. The decision on the 2026 Cantor Medal has been made recently by the DMV Executive Board upon recommendation of an external selection committee.
